Trans style icon Zaya Wade owns the runway in Paris Fashion Week debut

Trans teen sensation Zaya Wade recently made her Paris Fashion Week debut, strutting the runway for Miu Miu’s Fall Winter collection.

She posted videos and photos of herself sporting an olive green dress and jacket and carrying a brown handbag. In her Instagram comments, her famous father, NBA star Dwyane Wade, wrote that he was proud of her and added, “To witness your grace is something.”

Dwyane Wade also called his daughter an “icon” in a separate post.

Zaya Wade’s post also included a video of her father beaming with pride and embracing her after the show. He reposted it and said, “We love in private the same way we do in public!”

The Wades’ stylist, Thomas Christos Kikis, also posted about the show on Instagram with a special message for Zaya. “Tears in my eyes as i watched @zayawade make her debut at @miumiu today. thank you @dwyanewade for your endless trust in my vision. and thank you @zayawade for showing me what it means to believe in yourself.”

The post showed both Dwyane Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union (Zaya’s stepmom), in the front row of the show. The couple jointly shared their own post about Zaya’s debut as well.

After coming out as trans in 2020, Zaya skyrocketed to fame as a trans and fashion icon. Her dad and stepmom have also made headlines for the unwavering support they have given her.

The elder Wade first discussed Zaya’s transition on the Ellen Degeneres Show, where he said, “We are proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ+ community, and we’re proud allies as well, and we take our role and responsibility as parents very seriously.”

Zaya Wade has since interviewed Michelle Obama, modeled for Puma, and is now taking Paris Fashion Week by storm.

In February, she received an official legal name and gender change, officially becoming Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade.
